Risk Disclosure
Version 2026-10-16. Last updated: October 16, 2026
This Risk Disclosure forms part of the Terms of Service. It does not list every risk. If you do not understand these risks, do not use the Service, and consider getting independent financial advice.
Leveraged trading is high risk
Foreign exchange, CFDs, futures, metals, indices, cryptocurrencies and other leveraged products carry a high level of risk and are not suitable for everyone. Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains. Prices can move rapidly, including across weekends and news events, and positions can be closed by your broker at a loss (stop-out) without further warning. Depending on your broker and jurisdiction, you may lose more than your deposit. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
Copy trading has its own risks
- The leader can lose. Copying an account copies its losses as well as its gains. A strategy that has been profitable can stop being profitable at any time.
- Your results will differ from the leader's. Different brokers, prices, spreads, commissions, swaps, leverage, contract sizes, account balances and execution times mean a copied account never mirrors the leader exactly. Small accounts may be unable to copy proportionally because of minimum lot sizes, which can make the copy riskier than the original.
- Sizing settings change your risk. Ratio, multiplier and fixed-lot settings, symbol mappings and filters are chosen by you. A wrong setting can open positions far larger than intended.
- Copies can be delayed, missed, partial or duplicated. Network latency, broker rejections, requotes, market closures, disconnected terminals and maintenance can cause a trade to be copied late, at a worse price, only in part, more than once, or not at all.
- Closes and protective orders can fail. A position may not be closed when the leader closes, or may be opened without the stop loss or take profit you expected, leaving it exposed until you act.
- Hedging and conflicting positions. Copying several leaders into one account, or trading the account manually as well, can produce conflicting or hedged positions and unexpected margin use.
- Technology fails.Software, servers, the internet, brokers' systems and trading platforms can fail or be attacked. We cannot guarantee the Service will always run or behave as intended.
Statistics, analytics and forecasts
Performance figures, equity curves, drawdowns, rankings and statistics in the Service are calculated from data supplied by brokers and trading platforms and may be incomplete, delayed or wrong. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.
Forecasts, projections, simulations and any other hypothetical results are estimates, not promises. Hypothetical results have inherent limitations: they are prepared with hindsight, do not reflect real trading, and cannot fully account for slippage, liquidity, fees or the emotional and financial pressure of real losses. No representation is made that any account will or is likely to achieve results similar to those shown.
No advice, no guarantee
Trademetry is software, not an adviser or broker. We do not recommend accounts, strategies or settings, and nothing in the Service is investment advice. We do not guarantee any profit or protect you from loss. If a trade fails to copy, close or execute as intended, the resulting loss is yours; you use the Service solely at your own risk. Subscription fees are payable regardless of your trading results.
Legal and tax
Copy trading, managing other people's accounts, charging performance fees and pooling investor money are regulated in many jurisdictions. You are responsible for checking that your use of the Service is lawful where you and your clients are, and for your own taxes.
