Commissions

Paying agents and partners a share of what they bring in.

Commissions add on

Commissions pays the people who introduce and manage your clients. It sits on top of Billing: a commission is a share of a fee you have already invoiced, so nothing is owed until something is charged.

The three screens

Commission Overview lists every commission across agents, referrals, and partners, with two tabs — Details for individual entries and Summaries for the aggregate. Each entry shows the recipient, the invoice it came from, the type, the source amount, the rate, and gross and net.

Payout Summaries is what you actually pay out: recipient, invoice, gross, deductions, net, status, and date, filtered by status.

Partners manages partner records and their revenue-share percentages, each optionally linked to a user account so the partner can log in and see their own figures.

Rates

The default agent rate is Default Agent Commission (%) under Settings → Billing, with a Commission Cap (%) as the ceiling. Partners carry their own share percentage on the partner record.

Agents are assigned per client, on the contact record. That assignment is what routes a fee to a commission — an unassigned client generates no commission for anybody.

Reassigning an agent is a bulk action on the Contacts list: select the clients and choose Change Agent. Doing it one at a time through each contact is the slow path.

Agent and Partner are different on purpose

Both roles come with this module, and the difference is write access.

An agent manages their book: read and write on their own clients, their own commissions, forecasting, and the trade executor.

A partner introduces business but does not manage it: the same commission visibility, read access to clients, and the write and create permissions explicitly removed.

See Roles and permissions.

What agents see themselves

An agent logging in gets My Clients and My Commissions, scoped to their own book. They cannot see another agent's clients or earnings. See Agent view.

Gross, deductions, net

Commission entries carry all three. Gross is the rate applied to the source amount; deductions are anything withheld; net is what is paid. Payout summaries then carry a status, so a payout that has been prepared but not yet sent is distinguishable from one that has.
