Set up your workspace

The setup wizard, your workspace address, branding, and email.

The first time you log in, Trademetry runs a short setup wizard. You cannot reach the rest of the app until you finish it, but only the first step is required — every other step has a Skip button, and everything it collects can be changed later under Settings.

The stepper across the top is clickable: you can go back to any step you have already passed.

Step 1 — Profile and branding

The only mandatory step, in three parts.

Your profile — display name, email, and an optional phone number. This is how you appear to your team.

Workspace — your company name and your workspace URL. The URL is a slug, and it becomes a real address: pick northwind and your workspace lives at northwind.trademetry.app.

You do not have to use the slug address. dash.trademetry.app is a generic login that works for everyone; if your email belongs to more than one workspace, it asks which one you want after you log in. The slug address skips that question, which is why it is the better link to give your team.

Modules — the same add-on checkboxes from signup, so you can change your mind before you start. Also available afterwards under Settings → Modules.

Branding — a light-mode logo, a dark-mode logo, a brand colour, and a support email. These are what your clients see: the login screen, the portal, and the emails Trademetry sends all use them.

Step 2 — Email and digests

Email configuration. By default Trademetry sends mail on your behalf. Turn on Use my own SMTP server if you would rather mail left your own domain and mail server; you then supply host, port, username, password, from-address, and from-name.

Digest schedule. Digests are the periodic account summary your clients receive. Choose daily, weekly, or monthly, plus the day and the hour (in UTC) they go out.

Digests are account summaries only — balance, equity, period P&L, trade activity. They are deliberately not an alerting channel: a failed copier or a disconnected account shows up in the in-app notification feed, not in the email your client reads over breakfast.

Step 3 — Connect your first account

A cut-down version of the account form: label, platform, account number, password, and broker server. It creates a real account, validated against the live broker exactly as the full form does.

Skip it if you do not have credentials to hand. Adding accounts later is the same job with more options — see Connect an account.

Step 4 — Invite a contact

CRM add on

Only appears when the CRM add-on is enabled. It creates your first contact record. Skippable, and covered in Invite your team.

After the wizard

Finish setup takes you to the dashboard. From there, everything the wizard collected lives under Settings:

Tabs you cannot see are not missing — Settings hides tabs you lack permission for, and tabs belonging to add-ons your workspace has not enabled. Billing, Payments, and Exchange Rates all require Billing add on.

Using your own domain

Settings → Domains lets you serve the workspace from a hostname you own, such as portal.your-firm.com.

  1. Add the hostname

Enter it and Trademetry shows you the DNS record to create — a CNAME pointing at customers.trademetry.app.

  2. Create the record with your DNS provider

The domain sits at Waiting for DNS until it resolves.

  3. Wait for validation

It moves to Validating, then Active once the certificate is issued. Failed means the record was not found or did not match — fix the record and verify again.

  4. Set it primary

With more than one domain, the primary is the address used in links Trademetry generates, such as the ones in emails.
