Importing data
Bulk-load contacts, accounts, and pools from a spreadsheet.
Settings → Data Import bulk-loads records from a file rather than typing them one at a time. It is a five-step wizard: Target, Upload, Map, Preview, Import.
What you can import

Order matters. Contacts before accounts, because an account links to a contact that has to exist first. Pools before pool transactions, for the same reason.
The wizard
- Target
What kind of record you are importing.
- Upload
Your file. The next step is built from the columns it finds.
- Map
Match each column in your file to a Trademetry field. Anything you do not want is set to Skip column — you do not have to prepare the file to match a template first.
- Preview
Every row is validated and shown with its errors marked, before anything is written. A bulk-replace tool fixes a whole column at once, which is the usual cure for a country or status spelled differently from what Trademetry expects.
- Import
Only valid rows are written. The result is recorded with success and error counts.
Preview is the step to slow down on. It is the last point where a mismapped column costs you nothing — after Import, unpicking a few hundred wrong records is manual work.
Import history
The Data Import tab lists past imports with their date, target, file, status, and success and error counts. Open one to see what happened row by row, which is how you find the handful that did not make it.
Importing accounts
Accounts imported this way go through the same credential validation as one added by hand, so a row with a bad password or a misspelled server fails for that row and no other. See Connect an account.
Import creates accounts. It does not create copiers — the parent-follower relationships are yours to define afterwards. See Create a copier, which can point a leader at many followers in one pass.
