Settings
What lives on each tab, and why some are missing.
Settings is one page of tabs. Which tabs you see depends on two things: the permissions your role holds, and the add-on modules your workspace has enabled.
The tabs
| Tab | What it is for | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| My Profile | Your own name, email, and password | — |
| Modules | Turn add-ons on and off | Settings update |
| Billing | Fee structure and billing automation | Billing add on |
| Payments | Payment provider credentials | Billing add on |
| API Keys | Programmatic access — see API keys | API key read |
| Branding | Logos, brand colour, support email | Settings update |
| Domains | Custom hostnames — see Set up your workspace | Settings update |
| SMTP and sender details | Settings update | |
| Data Import | Bulk import — see Importing data | Import create |
| Roles & Permissions | Roles and permissions | Settings update |
| Exchange Rates | Rates used to convert between currencies | Billing add on |
| Single Sign-On | SSO for your team and clients | Settings update |
My Profile is the only tab everyone gets. If Settings opens on it and shows
nothing else, your role does not hold settings: update — which is the correct
state for a client or an agent, not a fault.
Modules
Turning a module off does not delete its data; it hides the feature. Turning it back on brings the same records back.
It does have reach beyond a menu item, though, and it is worth knowing which things go with it:
- CRM off — no Contacts screen, no contact field on accounts, and no way to add a person to the workspace. See Invite your team.
- Billing off — no invoices for anyone, including the client-facing ones in the portal. The Billing, Payments, and Exchange Rates tabs disappear with it.
- Commissions off — the Agent and Partner roles have nothing to attach to and are hidden from the role editor.
Exchange rates
Billing add onRates are fetched automatically and cached. This tab is where you see what is cached and override a pair by hand when you need a specific rate — a month-end close against a rate your accountant has already used, most often.
Rates matter in two places: converting analytics figures into your base currency, and sizing copies between accounts denominated in different currencies. See Risk types.
Single sign-on
Lets your team and clients log in with an existing identity provider rather than a Trademetry password. Once configured, invited users receive an SSO welcome email instead of a set-your-password one.
Where the rest of it is
Some things that feel like settings are not on this page:
| Looking for | It is at |
|---|---|
| Adding people | Contacts CRM add on |
| Your plan and account capacity | Subscription |
| Email templates | Email Templates Mailing add on |
| Copier defaults | On each copier — there are no workspace-wide defaults |
